About Pixel och Pensel
Pixel och Pensel is my creative practice. My name is Hans Norberg — curious by nature, with a strong belief in lifelong learning and the joy of continuing to grow and evolve. Through Pixel och Pensel, I aim to create visual stories that engage, explain, and inspire. Through illustration, animation, and movement, ideas become accessible and alive — always grounded in a clear pedagogical approach.
I hold a Master’s degree in Education and have extensive experience in teaching, with a particular focus on adult learning. This pedagogical perspective shapes all of my creative work — whether it involves form, storytelling, or animation.
An important part of my work is also Minnesnycklarna, where for several years I have developed visual tools and activity materials for people with cognitive disabilities, including dementia-related conditions. This work has deepened my interest in how image, color, form, and movement can create understanding, stimulate memories, and support presence and communication.
At the same time, animation has become an increasingly important form of expression for me. Through movement, an image can gain more time and depth, deepening the experience, sparking the imagination, and creating focus — a way of allowing the visual message to linger a little longer.
My goal is to bring together aesthetics and pedagogy, creating visual content that sparks curiosity, resonates emotionally, and communicates ideas relevant to both everyday life and society. I thrive in projects where image, storytelling, and learning come together.
Tools and Workflow
Everything begins in an analog way — with paper, pencil, and study. A mentor from the academic world once put it like this: ”“All new knowledge begins by sitting down and doing the reading.” ” That advice still stays with me today.
Based on the content, audience, and context, I then choose the digital tools best suited for the task.
Sketching, Ideas and Storytelling
Procreate and Procreate Dreams for sketching, visual thinking, and storyboarding. Paper and pencil when ideas need to take the longer route through the hand.
Illustrations and Animations
Clip Studio for illustration and 2D animation, together with Affinity and Adobe software for graphic design, image editing, and post-production. DaVinci Resolve is used for editing, color grading, and the final assembly of animated material.
Movement, Space and Exploration
Blender for exploring and building 3D environments, lighting, and spatial depth.
Digital and Interactive Environments
VS Code for working with digital environments, simple interactivity, and prototypes.
Technology is never an end in itself, but a way of giving form to ideas. I choose tools based on the situation — not the other way around — with a focus on clarity, rhythm, and understanding.
Best of all, my own learning never really ends.
